Word Work:
- 5 new sight words we learned were: away, animal, house, point, and page
- reviewed the OO sound and learned the ft blend
- Our teachers wondered if we could follow directions... only one of us read the whole thing first :)
Writer's Workshop:
- Worked on introducing our realistic fiction character in the beginning of the story
- Learned that we can begin our book by using dialogue, action, description, question, and background information
- Learned how authors end their stories and worked on providing a sense of closure to our books
Reader's Workshop:
- We learned what reader's theater is and got a script to become a character
- Practiced fluent reading of our character's dialogue
- Learned how to self correct a misread or misunderstood word
- Practiced expectations of performing Reader's Theater
Social Studies:
- Focused on habit 6- synergizing and habit 7- sharpening the saw! We got to sharpen our saw by doing brainbreaks!
- We got our leadership notebooks out and ready to begin sharing next week!
Science:
- Learned and talked about different types of severe weather and how to prepare and be safe
- tornado
- hurricane
- thunderstorms
- We took time and did a community builder- we had to untangle the string in our groups and create a circle!
Math:
- We took an assessment on chapter 7
- We dismantled the March calendar and set up April!
- We did some review of the math that we know in an Easter activity!
